About Me

After graduating with a degree in Kinesiology, I quickly realized that wellness in the body alone would not provide the balance an individual needs to be content and successful. This realization led me to seek additional education and graduate with a masters in counseling, thus combining the two disciplines for an effective, holistic approach to achieving good health.

In addition, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Addiction Counselor III. I have 15 years of experience working with adolescents and adults having problems with alcohol and other drugs as well as mood and anxiety disorders. My experience also includes helping people work through issues with relationships, grief & loss, conflict, stress, and life transitions. A wide variety of people with diverse backgrounds have sought my help and I have been described as genuine, creative, easy to talk to, and straightforward.

I have also presented in District Conferences and to students in the counseling field speaking on the topics of Creative Counseling and Maintaining Boundaries in the Therapeutic Setting. In addition, I regularly seek continuing education in order to stay abreast of current changes in the psychology field.
